Pleasantville books return trip to state football finals

Pleasantville is headed back to the Dome. And the Panthers have a shot at redemption.

Behind another stellar effort from its defense and a crucial special teams play, Pleasantville held off Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk of Section 2 in the NYSPHSAA Class B semifinals on Saturday at Middletown High School.

Highlights of Pleasantville’s win over Ravena:

Louis Sdao returned a punt for a touchdown and Aidan Picart hit Erik Coleman for a score as Pleasantville improved to 11-0 and secured a return to the Dome in Syracuse for the state championship. The Panthers will take on Section 4 power Maine-Endwell, the team that beat them in last year’s state final.
