Carmel captures first ever state football crown

The Rams finish the season perfect with a commanding performance at the Carrier Dome on Saturday night.

The Rams finished off their annihilation of the New York State football on Saturday with one of their most resounding victories of the season.

Carmel beat Section 6 champion Bennett, 42-12, in NYSPHSAA Class AA final at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse for its first ever state championship.

Dylan Shields ran for 156 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries, and Josh Massi, T.J. Fusco and Nick Rosaforte each scored in the win for the Rams, who finished the season 13-0.
