Iona Prep football captures state championship

Iona Prep claimed its first ever New York State Catholic Championship, rolling past St. Francis of Buffalo, 38-22, in the final on Saturday at home before packed crowd in New Rochelle.

Justin Joly accounted for three touchdowns and Ajani Sheppard threw a score and ran for one as the Gaels finished the season 11-1 as the No. 1 ranked team in New York State.
