Curtis sinks Stepinac on Oyekanmi halfcourt shot

Moments after losing the lead, Adeleye Oyekanmi delivered the greatest shot in the 20 year history of the Slam Dunk Tournament.

The Curtis High School senior banked in a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to lift the Warriors to a jaw-dropping 72-69 win over Stepinac in the consolation game at the Westchester County Center.

Here’s video of the final sequence, beginning with Adrian Griffin Jr.’s putback basket with 8 seconds to play to tie the game at 69-69.

Oyekanmi scored 13 points in the game and grabbed eight rebounds. Darnell Askew had 27 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

R.J. Davis led Stepinac with 27 points on 11 of 19 shooting. He also had 10 rebounds and three assists. Griffin had 13 points and Malcolm Chimezie added 10 points.
