Iona Prep’s home opener on Friday night delivered the first true dramatic moment of the season in Hudson Valley basketball.

Trailing by two with 2.6 seconds left to St. Francis Prep, Isaac Gonzalez took an inbound from under the Gaels basket and drilled a 3-pointer as time expired to life Iona Prep to a 58-57 victory.

R.J. Greene led Iona Prep with 15 points and three rebounds and Jack Shannon added 10 points and five boards. Will Rubin added seven points and seven rebounds for Iona Prep.
