Five years to the day that New Rochelle’s Khalil Edney hit “The Shot” at the Westchester County Center, Ardsley senior Julian McGarvey etched his place in Section 1 — and maybe even high school basketball — history.
The McGarvey Miracle.
Here’s how McGarvey stole an inbound pass with 2.4 seconds left in the Section 1 Class A championship, 52-51, over Tappan Zee.
“That was the greatest moment of my life,” McGarvey said. “This is what being a high school basketball player is all about.”

Ardsley hadn’t won a Section 1 title in 60 years until that moment.
McGarvey broke down after the shot and the Ardsley fans rushed the floor at Pace University. He scored 11 points with four assists and four rebounds.
Another great angle for "The McGarvey Miracle" for @ArdsleyPanthers. Shot by @kieran_varga pic.twitter.com/Q6ymQzYXCa
