The award for the biggest star of the week at the Westchester County Center is already locked up. Rye freshman Amanda Latkany has taken home the honor.
Here’s why: With her team trailing defending Section 1 champion Somers by a point in the final seconds, Latkany banked in the game-winning shot at the buzzer, lifting the third-seeded Garnets to a stunning 50-49 win.
