Football in the Hudson Valley will undergo a significant facelift for the 2018 season. Section 1 will only have 3 teams in Class C, 2 in Class D and 7 Class B programs will playing an independent schedule.
While the three largest classes continue to map out their alignments and structure for this fall, those 12 teams have the majority of their schedule in place. They are below.
The 3 teams remaining in Class C — Valhalla, Woodlands and Dobbs Ferry — and in Class D — Tuckahoe and Haldane — will compete for berths in the NYSPHSAA Tournament. The Class C teams will begin preseason practices on August 13 (with the rest of the Section 1). The Class D teams will start begin on August 20, as will the 7 independent teams — Edgemont, Briarcliff, Irvington, Hastings, Rye Neck, Croton-Harmon and Blind Brook.
Note: Exact dates are dependent on whether schools play on Friday or Saturday
