Stepinac wide receiver Tyler Winston announced on Twitter on Tuesday he committed to play at The University of Albany.

Winston, an All-State selection for the CHSFL AAA and Catholic state champion Crusaders, had an offer from Sacred Heart and growing interest from Delaware, Rhode Island and Buffalo.

“Opportunities come in different forms,” Winston wrote, “take yours and run with it.”

Winston arrived at Stepinac before the 2017 season as a quarterback and saw limited time. He committed to learning the wide receiver position and developed into one of the Hudson Valley’s top big-play targets.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder caught 41 passes for 562 yards and five touchdowns as a senior.

There were several other Stepinac football alum who signed on National Signing Day on Wednesday:

DeVante Reid, a 2017 graduated, committed to play at Trinity College. Reid, a receiver/defensive back, was injured and missed his senior season but played at Phillips Academy last fall.

David Harris, a 6-foot-3, 280-pounder, is headed to play at the University of New Haven. Harris played at Stepinac until 2016 and was at Monroe College the past two seasons. Harris was a second team NJCAA All-American last season.

Antonio Giannico officially signed to play at Pace University.
