Hen Hud packed the gym, as it usually does these days, on Tuesday night against Poughkeepsie and ended a 30-year title drought with another nail-biting win.

Time to clear space for a banner on the Donovan Gym wall. The Sailors captured at least a share of a League 2-E championship, their first in three decades (LoHud.com), with a 54-51 win to improve to 14-4 overall and 6-1 in league play. Kyle James had 15 points and nine rebounds and Austin Fraser added 15 in the win.

In order to win the league title outright, Hen Hud must beat Peekskill on Thursday or get a Beacon loss to Poughkeepsie. Beacon (11-8, 5-2 in league) split with Hen Hud in their two matchups.

Amazingly, Hen Hud dropped into a tie for the No. 5 seed in Class A Bracketology despite the win over last year’s Section 9 Class A champions. It was an active night in all classes of Bracketology standings with over 80 Bonus Points awarded.

With Hen Hud securing its hardware, here’s a look at every league in Section 1 as we enter the final four days of the regular season:

League 1-A

Arlington at Mahopac. It all comes down to this on Thursday as both teams are 5-2 in league play and meet in the finale. Mahopac beat Arlington 58-40 back on Jan. 13 as Justin Parker dropped 20 points and Ryan Dugan added 15. Mahopac has won three in a row after a four-game slide.

League 1-B

Defending state champion Mount Vernon has already claimed the league title with a 6-0 record and one game left to play, at home against Scarsdale on Friday.  It’s the 22nd league title in 25 seasons as head coach for Bob Cimmino, who won his 500th career game earlier this season in a win over Scarsdale.

League 1-C

At the moment, Clarkstown South is firmly in the drivers season to win arguably the most competitive league in Section 1. The Vikings (6-2) have a two-game lead in the loss column over North Rockland (5-4), Suffern (4-4), Clarkstown North (4-4). A win for South over either Ramapo on Thursday or Suffern on Saturday and the title is theirs. But if they lost both, then there could be a tie, or even a three-way tie, for the title. Clarkstown North has North Rockland and Spring Valley left and Suffern faces Spring Valley and South. This could get interesting if South falters.

League 1-D

Horace Greeley clinched the league title — its first in seven years — with last week’s win over Fox Lane. Quite a statement for first-year head coach Felix Nicodemo. The Quakers stumbled a bit down the stretch but capped a perfect season in league play on Tuesday with a decisive win over Ossining, finishing 8-0 in league and 15-5 overall.

League 2-A

Maybe the lock of the season was Saunders winning another championship in the Yonkers league. The Blue Devils has won 49 consecutive games against schools in the city, dating back to December 2013. They’ll go for No. 50 in their last league game on Thursday against a 1-17 Riverside team.

League 2-B

Tappan Zee won its third straight league title on Tuesday with a blowout win over Albertus Magnus. Aidan Cunney had 19 points and Danny Linehan added 17 in the 70-42 victory as TZ improved to 8-1 in league and 15-3 overall. The Dutchmen close the league season against Sleepy Hollow on Thursday.

League 2-C

Panas is on the verge of winning an outright league championship under first-year coach Mike Auerbach. The Panthers, winners of nine straight games, must defeat John Jay-CR on Thursday to claim the title solo. But a loss and a Somers win over Lakeland would put them into a tie at the top. Panas and Somers split their season matchups.

League 2-D

Byram Hills found itself in control of its own destiny the league after Rye was upset on Tuesday by Ardsley. Byram is 7-1 in league with two games left against Harrison, while Rye is 7-2 and faces Pelham in its finale. A sweep for Byram and they’re league champs alone. A split and a Rye win and they share it after going 1-1 head-to-head this season.

League 2-E

This league was detailed above. Hen Hud has clinched at least a share and can win it outright with a victory over Peekskill on Thursday. Beacon needs a Hen Hud and a win over Poughkeepsie to split it.

League 3-A

Briarcliff (7-1 in league) needs to win both games this week — vs. Hawthorne-CK and Pleasantville — to claim the league title on its own. A loss and two Valhalla (6-2 in league) wins and they’ll split the league after going 1-1 head-to-head. Two losses and Valhalla and Westlake can earn a tie. Valhalla faces Westlake and Croton-Harmon. Westlake has an outside chance of sharing a league title if Briarcliff loses twice and Westlake beat Valhalla and Hawthorne-CK.

League 3-B

Blind Brook has already clinched the league title with an 8-0 record and two games still left to play. The next team is Edgemont at 5-3, which lost twice to the Trojans.

League 3-C

Irvington has clinched the league title. The Bulldogs are 15-3 overall and 8-0 in league play with games left against Martin Luther King and Woodlands. Dobbs Ferry, which was beaten twice by Irvington, is second in the league at 6-2.

League 3-D

At 8-0 in league play, Hamilton needs only more this week over Yonkers Montessori or Tuckahoe to secure a league title. Two losses and two Tuckahoe wins and the teams would share the league title.

League 3-E

Putnam Valley has already captured the league title with a perfect 6-0 mark. The Tigers (16-3) close out the regular season with a non-league showdown with 14-4 Panas on Saturday at home.
