I love hockey. I just don’t follow it all that closely in Section 1. But today, after weeks of procrastinating and starting and stopping, I posted the updated Section 1 Hockey Bracketology standings on KDJMedia.com.

What hockey reminds you is that the Section 1 system works for a team like Pelham, which play a grueling out-of-section schedule. The defending Division 2 state champs travel pretty much every other weekend. The Pelicans took some lumps, started the season 1-6-2 with 5 of the losses against state powers, but sits at the No. 2 seed since only in-section games count.

Rivertowns (aka the “Legends” combined squad) is in the No. 1 spot in Division I, just ahead of Suffern. It seems like both section title races are completely wide open.
